Ever wonder if your reloads meet min chamber dimensions? Then this is the gauge for you!

First use the regular Case Gage to setup your sizing die to prevent over-sizing the cartridge case, then use the Min Dimension Gauge to verify your loaded ammo meets the SAAMI specification for minimum chamber dimensions and cartridge overall length (COAL). Made with the same tight tolerances you have come to expect from L.E Wilson Tools & Gages, this Min Dimension Gauge is best used if you are loading ammo to work in multiple firearms of the same caliber.

L.E Wilson Min Dimension Gauges are made from brass to SAAMI specifications for a minimum chamber, that are slightly LARGER than those for a maximum cartridge.

NOTE: Check with your bullet manufacturer to verify COAL as this this will vary depending on the style and weight of the bullet you are using.

The purpose of this gauge is to check your reloaded rounds to see if they meet minimum chamber specificatons. Therefore:
1) If your loaded cartridges do not enter the Min Dimension Gauge, this indicates an issue with your reloaded cartridge against SAAMI specifications. This does NOT mean that your cartridge will not chamber in your specific firearm's chamber. This only means the cartridge DOES NOT meet SAAMI minimum chamber dimensions and is telling you to take another look before deciding that your cartridge is good to fire.
2) If your loaded cartridges DO enter the Min Dimension Gauge, but DO NOT chamber in your gun, this points to you having a firearm with a very tight chamber and would indicate possibly an improperly cut reamer or a chamber that was cut below the minimum chamber headspace dimension.

Reasons to use the Min Dimension Gage
1) You want your reloaded ammunition to chamber in a variety of guns
2) You want to check for uniformity of your reloaded ammunition against SAAMI specifications
3) You want to pinpoint issues with your reloaded ammunition
4) You want a quick check to see if you are under the maximum SAAMI COAL
5) You want to check factory ammunition you have purchased

We recommend using the regular L.E Wilson Case Gage (for bottle necked cartridges) and Case Gauge Depth Micrometer to assist in determining how much to trim and push back the cartridge case shoulder to suit your chamber's headspace.

The Min Dimension Gauge is available in select calibers only.
